Low confidence on line items
Why line items sometimes show low confidence scores and how to review them efficiently.
Line items are the most complex part of an invoice to extract. Tables with merged cells, custom column headers, or items that span multiple rows are harder for the AI to parse reliably.
What low confidence means
A yellow badge on a line item field means the extractor was not certain about that value. It does not mean the value is wrong — just that you should verify it before exporting.
How to review line items efficiently
- Open the invoice in Results.
- Scroll to the Line Items section.
- Fields with yellow badges are your priority — check each one against the PDF.
- Click any field to edit it.
- When all line items look correct, proceed to export.
Common patterns
- Description trimmed — long descriptions may be cut off. Click the field to see the full value and correct it if needed.
- Quantity vs. unit price swapped — rare but possible on non-standard layouts. Check that the values are in the right columns.
- Tax lines extracted as items — some invoices list tax as a line item. You may want to remove it from line items and enter it in the dedicated Tax field instead.
Tip
If you have a vendor whose invoices consistently produce low-confidence line items, save a corrected version once and use it as a reference for future invoices from that vendor.
